Trial begins of AG – vs – Gordon Claude Wateridge

The trial of Attorney General – vs – Gordon Claude Wateridge began on Monday 10 August at the Royal Court, St Helier.  It is being presided over by Commissioner Sir Christopher Pitchers.
 
Mr Wateridge, faces 19 counts of indecent assault, one count of assault and one count of incitement to indecent assault. The offences are alleged to have taken place at the former children’s home Haut de la Garenne in the Parish of St Martin, between 1970 and 1974.
 
Mr Wateridge denies all the charges and the trial continues.
